Just some more pictures!

I think she is making fun of me fighting with the laundry in these first two.

Also, if these look blurry it is probably your eyes and not my lack of computer skills :-) I have no clue what size to make pictures for a blog, I just know that when I upload full size it takes like 10 hours - so I just keep trying different sizes. Anyone want to help me out??? I swear they look much better on my computer - I think most of these were taken sober.

It is true ~ thank god you can’t smell through this blog!

“Mommy, I like camping because you are suppose- to get dirty and even you are a little stinky”

Hope you weren’t expecting a souvenir…….

I was going to get you all one, but this is what I found on my shopping day :( CLOSED – pretty much EVERYWHERE was closed on Sunday!! I know ~ I know, lucky Greg ~ you should be at church anyway bla bla bla!! But (remember my blog, so I can start my sentences with but ~ so there) not to worry, I found a FANTASTIC place to spend plenty of money while Greg was in the cheesy train museum (which he loved by the way).
How do these people operate in these parts – Jeesh!

Then Every-single store had one of these signs ~ ummmm I am trying to shop local - but now I have to go to TJ max to buy souvenir's.

Empty parking lot ~ just so you guys don't think these were all from one store. I actually have more 'closed' pictures, but got tired of re-sizing!

Quote of the day

Greg to Lillian "Honey, you can't play 'secret mission' with those boys unless me and mommy know what the mission is"

Runner up

Greg to someone "Ya, I actually read the blog and she isn't even embellishing any of it! I was surprised that she wasn't adding any of that 'Jamie Flair'"

That is not how my mommy makes it...

We were limited to the local 'store' this morning when Lil's requested something other then cereal (the horror)for breakfast. You can imagine me and Greg's face as we browsed the food selection, none of which were microwavable. We came home with a box of pancake mix and the hopes that mema would be willing to whip up some pancakes. I couldn't help but laugh when I heard Lillian yelling at mema "that is not how my mommy does it, she puts my pancakes in the microwave" Then she turns to me and says "mommy, you don't put water in it right" Poor girl :-)

By Wednesday

We have abandoned the RV and my parents and rented a cabin (with a shower and un-limited hot water

Wait a minute.......

Are we having fun?? Yes, yes I think we are ;) So the country got me, and although I could live without the fly’s, mosquitos and all the people referring to me as ‘mama’, I am having fun!!

I Just want dry panties please!!

I have some thoughts on community laundry mats (well, community anything actually). First off, yes I have been very lucky to never have to use one in my 32 years of life. And for the love of Pete, I hope to never have to use one again.

When It comes to comfort, I (well ok Greg) spare no expense, so my issue is not with the $1.50 it costs to do a load of laundry and 1.50 if costs to do a load in the dryer(unlike mema who was bitching up a storm). My issue, is with the fact that it actually does not take $1.50 to dry a load of laundry ~ the $1.50 gets the laundry just dry enough to tease you and get you excited that you will finally (after 5 days) have dry pair of underwear, sweat pants and sheets. Then when you pull the laundry out of the dryer, you quickly realize that everything is still slightly ‘damp’. If you have ever camped you know that damp is NOT good. So you look around for a change machine ~ NONE ~ walk back to dig for more quarters ~ NONE ~ Go to the store to get change (closed at 5) so ~ NONE.

So when I return to the RV, defeated and tired, from carrying laundry back and forth (up-hill ~ both ways) I am told that everyone knows this bit of information – bla bla bla. Well I didn’t – so I suggest putting up a sign that reads;

$1.50 for dryer; however this will not get all of your cloths dry in one spin because we are trying to suck every quarter out of your wet, dirty pockets! We kindly suggest that you either A) make sure you have enough for 3 spins because that is really what it costs OR B) Take out your cloths, place in dryer and screw everyone else!

Or just put a dang change machine in the laundry mat!

Hello out there!!!

Anybody reading this?????????????????????

Some more pictures

Here are some more pictures. I have to make it to the bath house before it gets to hot since it does not have air! Oh boy, the things you learn while camping!

Quick pic of our view!

Things have calmed down a lot here in the Falk / Gagnon household, so I am going to share a quick picture of our view. Now that we are at home base I will be able to post more, and boy do I have some stories to share. Stay tunned for Jamie's review of bath-houses along our way. Yes folks (like the country lingo - hope that is all I pick up out here)I used a bath house (well several) ~ that is a public shower!!

YIKES, Woke up this morning to 50 degree weather - brrrrrrr. Since it has been HOT here, all 'winter' cloths were packed underneath for storage (oh Greg, can you do us a favor) ;-) It was fun to build a camp fire at 7:00 AM!

Hey there fellow road warriors.
This is coming at you from our third day on the road ~ 2nd day driving in the RV (Sunday). Wheww what an adventure it has been! There has been some adjusting to 5 adults, Lillian, and 2 dogs sleeping in an RV, but we are working out the kinks (now I remember why I moved out of my parents’ house 3 months after high school).
Here are some pictures of our home for the next 12 nights;

Here she is (or he, or it)

Test

This is NOT a camping picture - but just a test to see if I can upload one. It is an exciting picture since this is the first time we have ever caught the ice-cream man!

Planning, packing and planning some more - in one week!

The planning and packing has begun. I’ll admit, when my dad mentioned ‘camping’ in the mountains in Tennessee, there was one family member who was less then enthused. Roughing it, in 80 degree weather is NOT my idea of a dream trip. “Dad, haven’t you always wanted to tour Napa or see London? I specifically remember you saying when I was 12 that you would like to visit California one day, and that is where Napa is…no…, you don’t remember that”. Dang!

I don’t even know how to shop for clothes for camping, should I even get a pedicure, what about my hair, do I need hiking shoes?

And did you guys know that when you rent an RV you have to bring your own towels, sheets, blankets, toilet paper, etc. Jeez they obviously don’t know my issues with laundry (I think this means I have to do some) and who has extra sheets laying around?? I either threw ours away because we were running out of space or used them for drop cloths when I was painting. Well, at least I get to shop for something.
Of course this is all slightly exaggerated – kinda ;-), and at this point, if my dad wanted to hike to each camp site with tents strapped to our backs, build a fire with sticks and catch our own dinner, I would do it with a smile on my face. And (yes, I’m gonna start my sentences with and, but, whatever the heck I want – It is my blog so there) after doing the research, and seeing how cool the RV looks, and how awesome some of the places we are going look, I am supper excited!

The funny thing about my dad, and what makes him so special, is that when asked what his dream trip would be, he said “anything with the family, whatever you guys want to do as along as we are together”. This is typical Jerry ~ it is all about the family. When asked what he would want at Christmas, Father’s Day, His Birthday, etc.; his reply always was / and always will be the same “Just for you, Troy, and your mom to be healthy and happy (of course now that includes Lillian, Andrea and Greg)” “Having you as a daughter, is the best gift I could have” ;-)

But even after all that mushy stuff he still wanted to go camping ~ so here we go, on one wild ride!
